Default ummm..."Under Carraige" Question lol

We got back from our bite work class and Samson sprawled out on the hallway and I noticed his testicals are coming in (do they just pop out over night? How did I not see them before?) for the fear of googling this...should I keep an eye on them or do you think they are most likely fine?? I've heard of stories of them not dropping right....but I also don't exactly want to go handle them unless I have to any advice/information whatever I can get would be good.

P.S-he is 7 months old and my mom just got a girl Daschound (sp) and i am seeing them in about 2 weeks. Her puppy will be 18 weeks-can she get pregnant? should I be careful?

At seven months they should both be dropped. Did you see both?

As a side note, you should get your dog used to you handling every part of him. . . ears, paws, toes. . . even the undercarriage.

At 7 months both testicles should be in the sac. At 18 weeks one cannot get pregnant. Females can only get pregnant when they are in heat. That doesnt mean a male will not try to mate with them (i.e. jumping on them). I would be very careful however, that your pup does not hurt the smaller pup. GSD's like to chase (prey drive), and put their paws on other dogs/puppies. I would be concerned that the smaller puppy would get hurt. You have two weeks to train your puppy a solid down and to focus on you. When introducing them, keep both on leash. You may have to keep a leash on yours to gain control quickly.

Dawn gave good advice. As long as both are coming in and you see two, I don't see the issue, I don't remember the day Killian's "dropped" per say, but I wish I could go back to the days where they were hidden, now he has these huge..... Oh.... never mind. Lets just say, it was easier to bath him and not feel pervy back then!!

well, Singe is a bit over 7 months. He's starting to get stirrings that that thing "down there" isn't just for using the bathroom.

I'm sure that by the time summer is all the pillows and stuffed doggie toys will need to be hidden away, for their own safety

You know, maybe it's just because I'm from the farm, but I don't find animal reproductive organs even slightly amusing. I also don't find them horrifying, confusing, scary, or embarrassing.

But it sure is funny when your friends come over to the farm! A friend of ours came over a couple of weeks ago to help us work in the garden. Our buck was acting rutty and so our friend saw all parts of the male goat anatomy and behavior, and I think he's scarred for life.
