I have a socializing question. Soon I will be getting my pup and I have been told that I should socialize her daily with the cattle we have (for a short while each day). If she is like puppies we have had in the past, she will be eating cattle poop. Is there any harm that she might get parvo? I was told to start the introductions on the first day she is home. Does anyone have an opinion on whether the dog eating chicken poop is dangerous as well? Any opinions? Thanks!

I would distract her as much as possible with a 'leave it' command and a treat or toy. We're training to herd sheep and the poop is very tempting for Stosh. I'm not sure about the transmission of diseases, maybe someone else can advise you about that but worms and parasites are a concern. I use a heartworm preventative that also covers whipworms too.
