Default 20 Dogs Die at Boarding Facility - AZ

This local tragedy happened over this past weekend and I decided to share to remind all of us to be very careful where and with whom we leave our dogs. The local sheriff's office is conducting a full investigation, but from what is evident so far, these poor dogs were in horrible conditions and died from heat exhaustion.

I will let you decide for yourself based on the videos, but 20+ dogs were allegedly kept in a small unsafe room (unsupervised and not kenneled) and a dog chewed through an exposed electrical cord cutting off the air conditioning. The dogs died from heat exhaustion. The worst part is that the owners weren't told until 24 hours later and even then were told their dogs had crawled through a hole and had ran away. People were out looking or their dogs and the whole time their little bodies had been dumped in a shed. Sick!

One of the owners admitted to panicking and lying about the dogs running away. One dog, a German Shepherd mix, really did get away and is being looked for as i write this. I feel so bad for these dogs that died such a tragic death and their owners.

Please consider supporting the local Facebook page that is seeking justice for the owners of these precious dogs.

That is so sad. I feel terrible for those pups and their owners.

This happened right down the road from me. Just awful. One of the things to look for in a kennel or boarding situation, for me, is on-site 24/7 supervision. This was very, very sad and totally avoidable in my opinion. You can't do cage free boarding without someone on site, I just can't reconcile that.

Agreed Atika! Why anyone would leave that many dogs unattended "to sleep" is beyond me. I don't leave my one dog unattended if I can't see what he is doing. They should be put in a kennel for their own safety. My daughter and I drove around Chandler Heights/Greenfield yesterday on our way home from an errand and looked for Valor. So many sketchy details in this story.

We must be neighbors! I live off of Riggs.

So so sad. It is sad when you think you are doing the best thing for your dog and then something like this happens. We are leaving Samson for the first time this weekend and it breaks my heart. My niece is flying in from Virginia to watch our animals and kiddos. I am so glad that I don't have to board them

I am with you! My son and I have driven the area too, with no luck. I live right off Lindsay and Chd Blvd. I completely agree, there are details that are not adding up. I do admin work for a kennel in Tempe that boards "cage free". The owner literally lives on-site with the dogs and they are never without a human in their presence. It makes my heart so sick to read about this.

Oh well we are close! I am at Lindsay and Riggs and our pup is 7 months old today! He's a big boy at 78 lbs! We go to doggy daycare about once per week at K9 Day Out on Val Vista/Riggs and I love them. Samson can't wait to get out of the car when we drop him off. Same there, humans always present and it is CLEAN!

It seems like they are hot on the trail of this mixing GSD! I hope they find him today! He has to be hot and this heat has to be hard on him. Smart little guy though...the trackers are saying he is headed in the direction of home. Makes me think of the Homeward Bound movie...
