The story says the family "spent days" looking for the dog and when the dog was finally found their was blood "still coming from his mouth" as though it was fresh. Where was the dog kept during those days?? If the dog had been hit on the first day the blood would not have been fresh. The body would not have been fresh. Those statements to me are the red flags.
Horrible anyway you look at it. That poor child doesn't understand what has happened to her beloved companion and she can't communicate for someone to help her understand. If this was done intentionally, someone should be beaten with a bat themselves.

That's exactly what I was thinking.
One other way I thought about it was maybe someone did pick the dog up thinking it was a stray but then the dog got out from that persons place trying to get back home and then got hit by a car or something. Would explain some of the time maybe???? That really does stink for the little girl though. Hopefully though, this was just a very bad accident and there was no malicious intent behind it.

I am sorry for the little girl, however I am having a hard time understanding how a therapy dog or service dog was able to be out of the yard so someone could pick him up? Usually these dogs stay close to their person whom they are helping, not off by themselves.
Where was the adult who was watching neighborhood kids and the autistic girl out in the yard playing by themselves? And a yard not fenced so the dog could run into the street? Where was the adult supervision for an autistic child and her playmates to keep them from getting into the street or picked up by a stranger? Hmm, sounds a bit strange to me. |
