Here is a news story I just saw today. I'm not sure exactly how old it is though. It is about a dog, a black lab, who can apparently do math. He can count, add, subtract, multiply, divide, even algebra.
So we either have some really subtle cues from the handler (Clever Hans effect) or a pretty smart dog. Even if he isn't doing 'math' or getting cues, to remember that many different "commands" for a number of barks is pretty awesome. Video : Beau the Labrador retriever is a canine calculator The video is in that link. I had no problems viewing it, and I hope everybody can watch it. What do you all think? |
