This makes me wonder what kind of bees they were. We have Italians and they are fairly docile. I think every apiary should really be fenced in, both to keep the bees safe and to keep people and animals at a safe distance. My homestead could not function without the extensive use of fencing!

Poor puppy, that is such a horrible way to die.

Poor puppy - I have been stung a number of times and can not imagine the pain that little baby went thru!

I think I would visit my neighbor with a couple of cans of Raid one day.

Saw this in the news yesterday. So very sad RIP sweet baby. In the story I read it was stated that it occured in a communal garden - it could have been a toddler/child that knocked that hive over. Either way, I think like Good_Karma said, they really should have been fenced in or something
