Default Our local K9 unit #1 in the state!

Two years in a row. After being taken off the streets for 9 months due to politics. They are back and showing that they are worthy of the title.
This K9 unit was removed a year or so ago due to complaints against the dogs. The complaints were never substantiated and it was very obvious to everyone that this was a political ploy by the mayor who was up for re-election. A judge ordered the alleged complaints be made public but the mayor never complied. Instead he reinstated the dogs (after the election which he won).
Atlantic City is a high crime city, with most of the criminals living in the city itself. It was the criminals who allegedly complained. Funny, the dogs did their job and were punished for it. They were never able to produce any evidence to substantiate the claims.

My next door neighbor was a K9 officer and his partner Bosco lives at home, so I know him well. Before the dogs were to be reinstated, the mayor required they enter a competition to make the dogs earn their way back on to the force. They had been inactive for 9 months, were in no shape to compete and sadly, Bosco suffered a severe leg injury, forcing him into retirement. They had only one week to prepare for the competition.

So to be #1 in the state after so much controversy is a great achievement.
Here's the story.

Thanks for commenting you two.

And did anyone notice that one of the police dogs was named Gunner?
