Default Some Good News About Puppy Mills

I couldnt find a thread about this (so sorry if there is one), but LA recently passed a new law about puppy mills, and Ive got to say maybe this will start changing the way people breed dogs and the heartaches that some puppy mills do to dogs.

Breaking News: L.A. Passes Puppy Mill Law

Watch out. The breeders will come in here now and tell you how this is a bad idea and this law is infringing on their God given right to breed and it will destroy their chances at running a successful operation.

I, OTOH, think it is a great start.

I tried to read the whole ordinance but I got an error. Maybe it is just my computer. What was written in the artical does not sound too grusome. I do not know how they can enforce some of it, but it has some common sense stuff in it.

Seems good on paper, how ever they hardly have the man power to enforce the currently laws we have, how will this new law change anything?

I've never been a fan of any attempt to legislate morality.

well put. the people who run puppy mills are cruel, not lacking "regulations." and good breeders are already doing all these things and won't be affected in the least.

it's not like the people out there running puppy mills are going to read this and think "oh gosh, who knew the dogs should have solid floors, be well groomed, and have sanitary living conditions? crap we have some work to do!"

....not gonna happen, sadly.
