I refuse to use the drop on the shoulder flea meds, all my pups have been on oral tabs for years not a flea anywhere and it does not transfer the oily deposits to my furniture.

I use Comfortis for fleas for three of the Hooligans and Frontline Plus for ticks for everyone.

Don't forget that there are other options to topical flea/tick repellents. Two I can think of are Bug Band and ShooTag.

Bug Band was originally designed as a wrist band for people to keep bugs away, but they now make sprays, pellets you can spread around your garden, etc. When they first came out, we would hook the wrist bands around the dog collars and have had really good results with that, even in tick-infested Virginia.

Welcome to the Official Site of DEET-Free BugBand Insect Repellent Products with Geraniol! for info on Bug Band.

I heard about the ShooTag from another board member and you can read about them here - Home | shoo!TAG? - The chemical-free way to protect your dogs, cats, and horses from pests
