Default Old News, But Still Shocking (Starved GSD)

Cruel dog owner who starved German Shepherd Hobo to brink of death banned from owning pets for 25 years | Mail Online

Did anyone see this when it was in the news?? I'm just now finding it. I know this is for "Current Dog Affairs", but this is so repulsive I felt the need to post it and bring it to attention. Sorry if it was already posted back when it actually occurred.

This is absolutely sick, and she's only banned from owning an animals for 25 years? How about for life?! Sick, sick, sick.

She's 56 right now, in 25 years she will most likely be dead

I'm sure that's the logic, but she'll be 81, that's not ridiculous as far as age goes. It's not as though she's 80-something now and another 25 years would be obviously unreasonable. There was a case of animal cruelty here recently where a woman, who was 80 years old, was found living with 104 cats. They had to euthanize all of them because the conditions were so horrific that their health was irreparable.

http://animals.change.org/blog/view/...he_second_time *Edit - Better link to the story

This woman could still do damage to another animal at 80 years old, if you ask me.

*Edit - Also wanted to add that the Woman with the cats was found hoarding them one time before! This wasn't the first time. What's to say that this Woman who starved the GSD won't do it again to another animal in 25 years? If she's not dead, she's certainly capable of repeating the offense. The cat Woman was of that age...

Joy should be starved to death. I'm not joking either.

I am glad Hobo recovered. I saw this story when it was first in the news but had not seen the outcome. I am glad she cannot own any more animals but she needs some jail time too.

this reminds me alot of the story about courage. He was starved to near death also, when he was brought in he was said to have hours left. He had survived by eating dirt in the back yard...in his pictures he already looked dead, and as if he had laid in the desert for days.

this hurts so much to see...

This is the first time I have seen this particular story and am appalled that this woman could go so long starving Hobo without someone else noticing. I agree with chicagojosh, she should be starved to that same point so that she can see how much pain the dog was in while under her care. I have never seen a dog so far gone as Hobo that didn't die. What a brave soul he is and I'm so glad he made it to have such wonderful care from another human.
