These pictures break my heart and make me angry at the same time.
An individual in England keeps his two GSDs chained up outside with no shelter. It was first reported to the RSPCA last summer when the weather was much better. Apparently they are outside all of the time. Now there are pictures showing these forlorn dogs covered in snow, trying unsuccessfully to seek cover from a short overhang. http://www.germanshepherdrescue.co.u...r-duties2.html As far as I'm concerned, people like that don't deserve dogs.

Things like that just make you want to drive over there and snatch the poor dogs. Those pictures broke my heart. I sometimes forget that while my dogs are sharing my bed in the winter some are left out to suffer in the cold.

Having watched my puppies fly through the doggie door blanketed with snow, I cannot make a judgement on this. Mine LOVE snow.
I just read a site on how to turn in a puppy mill. They give you all the ins and outs of how to get the public to boil. They tell you to hold one of the dogs. They tell you to show the worst conditions possible. That being said the chain on the first dog is really, really short. The second dog does not seem to be chained. For some reason the RSPCA felt these dogs were not in danger. The one dog is shedding; I have one blowing her coat right now too. Maybe, just maybe these dogs do go inside, maybe they do have shelter.

I sure hope they do get to go inside. The complainant doesn't seem to think so, but I will try to stay positive.
My dog loves to be outside too and would probably be out there 24-7 if I gave her that option. She is a house dog, but if I did keep her outside, I would at least give her a dog house to escape the elements when she chose to do so. Sending good thoughts and vibes to that owner and his dogs...

My dogs love the snow too, but after they have ran and played in it they have the option of running into their dry, warm shelter with straw beds and warm heat lamps. I know they would HATE the cold if they were chained on cement and had no cover and had to lay on cold, hard, wet concrete. There is no way to justify keeping them in this condition, I don't care what the weather is they HAVE to have a shelter from both the heat and the cold, it's as simple as that.

What I most hate to see is that short chain. I hope these dogs aren't chained outside a crate or locked inside a crate all the time.

http://www.dogsdeservebetter.org advocates may help, but this is not US, I don't know if they have reps overseas.
