The article says in part, "Their goal, according to a post on the PETA website, was to draw a parallel between the KKK and the American Kennel Club. "Obviously it's an uncomfortable comparison," PETA spokesman Michael McGraw told the Associated Press.

But the AKC is trying to create a "master race" when it comes to pure-bred dogs, he added. "It's a very apt comparison.""

IMHO trivializing slavery, comparing enslaving human beings to breeding purebred dogs, is outrageous.

Nothing makes my temper flare more than these PETA morons. Someone should explain the plants they eat also feel pain when harvested.... maybe they'd starve and we'd be rid of them once and for all <evil smile>

Time to stop giving these folks media coverage. They are a YAWN-a-minute. Like some desperate-for-attention teen who gets yet ANOTHER piercing or tattoo, (and no, I don't think all folks who enjoy body art are this way) their tactics are getting too predictable to be shocking anymore. Their thinking is faulty: "Wow, we rilly, rilly, rilly unsettled YOU, didn't we! HAH!! Now yer gonna AGREE with us, huh!" The truth is, <span style="color: #3366FF">the only people listening to them are others of like mind anyway, snickering in the background</span>. Yawn.

If they had any REAL sense and courage, they'd find a way to: 1.make spay/neuter more affordable,
2.educate the very young on animal care,
3.find a way to put a halt to true puppymills while
reputable breeders who spend exhaustive amounts of time and money to health screen, temperament test, train, trial, etc their dogs would be left to continue being a source for healthy, sane dogs to come from.

They want to grandstand for attention, they don't want to make progress for animal welfare.

Hang on a minute. I think PETA and the KKK ARE VERY similar, so PITA members wearing KKK outfits is appropriate.

Think about it, the KKK was a terrorist organization trying to modify people's behavior and beliefs by force. PETA is a terrorist organization trying to modify people's behavior and beliefs often by force.

Trust me that for people showing dogs, PETA people are terrorists. We are definitely afraid they will break laws and harm our dogs. I would rather they don bed-sheets when they come to shows so that we can keep our dogs safe.

PETA is violently opposed to purebred dogs. They feel that to break laws in the process of achieving their goals is perfectly ok. They are well fitted to the bed sheets.

The only difference is that most of the people think of PETA as kind of a joke. Some people think of them as people standing up for the poor animals. Only a handful see them as terrorists. While the KKK -- very few people take them as a joke. Most see them as terrorists or at least extremists, and fortunately only a handful see them as a legitimate organization promoting acceptable values.
