Leontine at 9 1/2 months
I realize that this is not a good picture for a critique, but it is the best I have until I have a photgrapher other than myself. :) Leo was a stray, so I have no idea what lines she is from, but most likely BYB. She is 9 1/2 months old in the picture. She's now 11 months, but looks pretty much the same. She stands 23(ish) inches tall, and weighs 52 pounds. I am assuming she is black and red, with a long stock coat?

Wow, she is a beauty! Lovely markings. Yes, I think so also - black & red, long-haired.

Hi LeoRose - Can't really give you a conformation critique, but a few tidbits you may be interested in:
I agree that she is most likely a BYB, mostly american lines I'd say by the blanket back and the refined look to her head. West German Showlines are almost uniformly saddle back, so the extensive blanket probably comes from the american lines. The lack of pigment on her muzzle, with a dark area on her forehead is called a reverse mask. A high tail carriage is called a gay tail, and is considered a fault, as the standard calls for a relaxed, lowered tail carriage. She has a nice ear set, and a plush coat. I hope you get a chance to read the sticky on how to stack a dog and post some more pics. Sometimes, a dog will fall into a natural stack, and if you are quick with the camera, can make for some nice pictures for critiquing. She looks lovely and has a sweet expression - I'm sure she is a joy to have around. :) |
Thanks. I realize that it is not the best picture for a real critique, just one I was able to snap one day. I can tell you that she seems to have straight shoulders and a not so great ear set.
