Default Shade & Odin

Pics were taken on my phone, so the quality isn't super awesome and the colors aren't great either, but it gives a general idea I hope.

I think the rear leg closest to the camera should be back a tad more? The front legs aren't lined up correctly but it was difficult to get her to hold still.

Odin's head is kind of at an odd angle, however I think the rest of him is placed right? Structurally I think his feet could be tighter. Oh, and his hair is still growing back from his surgery, so his belly area looks a little off.

How old are they?

Shade: Flat withers, good topline, croup is very steep and should be longer. The way she is stacked isn't helping this picture. She has quite a lot of tuck up that makes her look rather long through her loin. Good angulation front and rear. She appears to stand straight and her feet are OK. The collar holding her head up is making her head look too big for her body. It is pushing the hair up around her face. She has a nice black overlay, but I would like to see a richer under color. Nice dark face.

Odin: Flat withers, OK topline, croup is a bit steep and should be longer. I would like to see a much wider thigh muscle, shows more strength. Good angulation in front and rear. Just looking at him I get the feeling he would be fairly free moving in front (good thing). His pasterns could be stronger and I would like to see tighter feet. He is also standing a bit toed out in front. Pretty good color and nice dark face. Sufficiently masculine (I didn't have to check plumbing).

Thank you for the critique. I should have used something other than the slip lead I had on them.

Both have birthdays next month. Shade will be 1, and Odin will be 3.

Btw, are withers supposed to be flat?

No, withers are not supposed to be flat.

Shade looks young.

Nice pictures Kelli. We should get together and take pictures. No one I know can take pictures or stack and I cant do both. Odin looks more 'stretched' and comfortable in the pictures. Shade looks hunched up and squished.

Lisa, Shades under color is lighter than her two sisters. Bella and Babsy have more of a "red" color to the tan areas. They are very lean for their age. Must be the East German in them. Taller than their mum, who is a generous 22" at the withers. They have a lot of filling out to do.

We should. I was fortunate enough to have 2 of my friends from work help me out, one was taking the pictures and the other was off to the side with a squeaky toy. I'd love to get some better ones with better lighting, the fluorescent lights don't do any favors.

I don't think I had ever attempted to stack Shade prior to this attempt, getting that stack was an accomplishment in itself, but she does look very squished, wish I could have brought the rear out a little bit. I've bugged Odin enough with stacking practice in his almost 3 years, so he has more of a "whatever" attitude toward it.
