Default Critique Ruger??

Keep in mind he's a rescue...no history on him at all!!

So - we did our best to get some stacks, but it's amazingly difficult. I guess you must start with them from the get-go on learning this?

If you morph the one where he's stacked nicer but his head is turned, with the one of his head's profile maybe you can get the idea

His look says it all...

In motion-

And a fun one - "puppy love"!

Would help to know how old he is. Looks to be about 5 months. Their growth between 5 and 7 months is so goofy it's not worth critiquing them. He looks like he will be a great looking dog but right now he's a goofy pre-teen. I like his head and his topline.

You really can't properly do a critique without the dog in a PROPER stack. If he is a dog that cooperates and is easy going, you can move his feet into position while another person takes the pictures. There are a lot of threads on how to properly stack a dog.

One thing I notice is his eyes, they're too light. But he has nice tight pasterns. His croup looks a little short but that could be the stack job!

He looks like a throwback GSD from the early 20th century. The kind Max was trying to create. Before everyone else got their fingers and ideas into the breed. Look at the old pictures and you will see your dog. He looks a lot like Rin Tin Tin.

That's a very nice compliment, Paddy, thank you
You'd have loved our Hunter. I'll try to find some photos of him and post them. We got similar comments.

We were in a petstore a few weeks ago and saw some grossly overdone GSD pups, it was so sad how awful their back legs were, almost deformed. The female was skinny as a rail and looked unhealthy. The boy (learned they were siblings) was slightly more healthy appearing but both had extremely long back legs and were cow-hocked because of it
