Here is my GSD Ian at 8 months. I have yet been able to see him really stretch out in a trot- He may not be capable. Perhaps his rear is too tight? I am familiar with dog movement, but he is my first GSD. He seems a bit uncomfortable when he is loping, like he is not sure how to move his back legs when he gets speed- either in a lope or a fast trot.

He looks exactly like my female.

his trot looks fine, he seems very capable of trotting. Sometimes if they a good trotters the "lope" looks funny .
