Finding a Mod or Admin to make a change question

Is there anyway to put the little Green buttons on the Forum listing page, so that you can see which mods/admins are around in case you want to "hunt one up."

Or, would that just let the mice know when the cat's are away?

Not sure what you mean - though if you go to the bottom of the Main Index page, there is a listing of who is on-line - Mod and Admin names are in color and bolded, so easy to see at a glance.

Thanks, never noticed that before. That would make it a lot easier than going down the forum and clicking on each mod/admin to find one that is on line.

With that said though - I'm often logged in and away from my computer, so not getting a response doesn't mean that I'm ignoring you.

The same is true for me. I try to check in at least once every day but according to other happenings I may be gone for a couple of days from time to time.

Also, folks need to understand that admins can do everything but mods can only do stuff in their sections of the forum.

I have been told my light was on when my computer was up, the forum was open, but I had been away from my computer for a good while.

There are some occasions, usually later at night, when things start going south fast, or someone needs immediate help, and are in the wrong place. If they are going south, I will notify, but sometimes, letting a mod or admin know what is going on, may get the situation under control quicker.

You may not be able to move a post or shut a thread, but you might know who can, or, you can post something that can squelch some of the insanity.

In the case that spurred this question, the posts were moved to the proper section before I finished hunting down a mod/admin. It sounded like a dog might be likely to get chucked if the son couldn't get some help for the situation. I didn't want the post to go unnoticed because it was buried in a thread about possible board suggestions. I could have notified on that, but you always get that little disclaimer -- THIS IS ONLY FOR SPAM or TO REPORT, well whatever it says. It never seems like the right thing to do.

It's fine to notify for something that needs mod or admin attention - it doesn't have to be just for spam or abuse.
