New York State area

Hi, I'm looking for breeder recommendation's in the area including New England. I enjoy obedience and all training with my current GSD but my main priority is a family dog. I currently have a west german show line but that is simply because she was my first GSD. I'm not really sure which direction I should lean honestly - working or show because to me the priority is family dog. Maybe someone can offer suggestions on a breeder. My current girls level of everything is perfect if that means anything....

Even New Jersey and surrounding areas are fine.

I have checked some older threads but was hoping for more recent resources.

Abby kennels in Chelmsford, MA has a couple of working line litters coming up. The website isn't up to date but the breeder would be happy to take calls or emails

Hello, welcome to the forum.

I don't know any breeders in your area, sorry, but I have a suggestion that may help you.

You have mentioned how happy you are with your WGSL girl. Are you in contact with her breeder? Perhaps you can wait for a Puppy from the same breeder? Or that breeder can help you network with other breeders with similiar lines.

Since you are very happy with your current dog and sounds like you want the same type of dog again, to stack the odds in your favor of getting a similar temperament and looks you would be better off sticking with WGSL.

Good luck with your puppy search!

Welcome to the forum!

Before you call or talk to a breeder make sure you really read up on ---> How to find a puppy! and Link: How to tell a good breeder website from a bad one.

There's too many irresponsible breeders that add dogs to kill shelters and rescues, as well as have unfit and dogs with poor temperaments out there. For a 12+ year commitment it works out better if we take the time on the front end to know what a 'responsible' breeder really is.

Only after reading up on those links would I just start continuing to wander around this site. Many of us have information on our dogs/breeders in our signature lines. Or you can PM us if you like all you read about our dogs.

Good luck.

Thank you. The person we got our first girl from is no longer breeding. I have been looking through the suggested sites and appreciate all the information. I was wondering if anyone had experience with Vom Kammer Shepherds in the Adirondacks? Dogs look beautiful....

Where abouts are you located? I know of a couple working line litters in NY.

We are in the outskirts of Plattsburgh. Driving a distant is really not an issue though - we would just prefer not to ship a puppy in.

check these out...

vombenzahaus is where my boy came from.

I have seen and know people who own dogs from both kennels.
