Default I'm lost and confused...

My name is Jairo and I知 kind of lost and confused. I知 looking to buy my first GSD but I have no idea where to get it from. I知 not looking for any particular region in the country but rather a very excellent quality. I知 interested in a show line (conformation) GS rather than a working line. I知 new to this breed so I could use all the help in the world. I知 interested in having a show dog even though I may not show him/her. Please if anyone can recommend a reputable breeder I would greatly appreciated. Thank you!

JP

For German show line, I would contact Huerta Hof. They could maybe direct you to someone closer.

Would you prefer American showlines or West German showlines?

I agree on Huerta Hof. Also, try Von Lotta (they have a litter coming up), Alta Toll-haus, Oher Tannen.... There are more when I remember lol.

If American, Marcato shepherds is breeding their first litter at the end of the year (I think?).

Hokschhaus (in Madison, Wisc) is where I got mine. She breeds German show lines, and I have been more than pleased with her quality of dogs, breeding program, and how helpful she is as a breeder. 100% happy with my experience with her! Good luck!

if yr that lost you will prolly get so much info on the forums as there are so many good breeders around you will prolly just get more lost.

yr needs are relatively simple so why not just start looking in yr local area, go to shows, visit every breeder look at their dogs and how well they are cared for etc.

all that really matters in yr case is verifiable health, and breeder ethics. don't get sucked into a puppy-farm dog.

once you narrowed it down a bit post again asking about specific breeders/matings/litters you are interested in.

have you considered a rescue or a proven healthy young dog that may just not be good enough for winning big shows etc, could get a bargain.

good luck.

yr question is very broad imo.

I'm definitely interested in West Germany Showline. For what I've read here in the forums Huerta Hof seems to be a very reputable breeder with good quality dogs. I will give them a call to see what they have coming available. Thank you for your assistance.

There are a lot of excellent breeders that are located all over the country I think it would help it you told us your location and then we could point you in the direction of a breeder that was within travelling distance to you.

It is always nice if you are actually able to travel to the breeder to meet them and view the parents of your potential pup.

Robin is a great breeder, and a member of the forum (robinhuerta). I would be overjoyed to receive one of her pups.
