Anyone with 1st hand experience on finding a breeder offering healthy, companion/family pet quality pups in or near NE Indiana?
After much research, I know that I want a German Shepherd female, coloring/hair length doesn't matter. The important qualities I want are, 1st of all-a reasonable health guarantee, a commanding presence with a loving heart of gold and the ability to perform obedience work. I will not be showing or breeding this dog. I live on 6 wooded acres and will be with this dog nearly 24/7. I have no small children or other pets to consider. I imagine either a show dog or a working dog could be suitable, I just am having difficulty finding legit breeders in this area and would love a recommendation. Thanks |

Welcome..you should search this forum for breeders in Indiana, Illinois. I have first hand experience with dogs from this breeder, so the only one I can personally recommend. They are nicely bred, stable minded dogs and he will pick the right dog for you. Diehl's K9 Training LLC

I cant really think of any reputable breeders here in Indy, honestly. You would probably have better luck looking in Illinois and Michigan.

Did you look at his website. Yes, it appears he has puppies. My exerience is with dogs he bred: my dock diving instructor has two of his dogs. One is a Stormfronts Brawson dog..and she is a bit too drivey for my taste. The other is by Erri and is wonderful! My pup's dam is by Erri ..and this pup is so far very easy and stable. Mike has a good reputation. Call him or email him. He is hosting a show in two weeks..go see the dogs perform.

Still- Personally I'd look north to Michigan. Lots of good breeders up that direction.

Oh- I forgot about her dogs, ponyfarm. I guess I also have met a couple more Diehlomov dogs than I remembered. Apollo z Diehlomov is such a nice sweet boy. He's not over the top and is quite the dock diving jumper! I like his drive.
