One that comes to mind is shepherds by design. I believe they breed Czech lines. The breeder, chuck, posts here from time to time.

When you are looking for a pup to work - be sure to find out how many litters have produced titled dogs from the breeder??????? How many litters have they produced??? Working prospects should come from breeders that produce titled dogs...at least 1 or 2 per litter gives you a pretty good chance of getting a pup to title!

If you REALLY want a working line dog the distance should not matter.

You can always have a puppy or dog shipped.

If you look at breeders websites, they usually have the previous litters with achievements listed. That will give you an idea of what they are producing.
If you are really interested in a pup 12 hours away, then go for it...you may regret it otherwise.
I'm lucky, around here there are many great breeders within a days drive.

FB has a page of working dogs/pups listed, worth viewing for more breeder names(lots of Mal's too)

Try Bill Kulla and Jennifer Acevedo in Marengo. I have a working line male from them and there are several others on this forum. "Hunter" is half-brother to my dog. I'm coming to IL on Saturday to show my working line dog at the Prairie State show. Jen will try to be there in the afternoon if you want to meet her.
