Looking for a breeder in the mid atlantic states region
Hi, my husband and I are looking to get a GSD within the next 6 months. We have never owned a GSD before so we are new to this. We are looking for a family companion/protection. I am home all day while my husband is at work and I would feel better if there was a large dog around. We live in MD and would like to purchase one around there. We are willing to drive about 300 miles to get one though. Does anyone have any breeder recommendations? We would rather keep the price under $1000. Does anyone know anything about Sander-Haus in VA?

Hello and welcome to the forum!
 What lines are you interested in? Working lines or showlines? What do you plan on doing with your German Shepherd? Good luck trying to find a good quality puppy from a reputable breeder for under $1,000.

You can get a very nice pet quality Belgian Tervuran for $700-$900 from an excellent breeder. Just saying.
 They are really increasing in popularity. They have all the characteristics of a GSD, in a slightly smaller package and a much lower price tag. (The coat is only thick in the winter.) IMO, they are beautiful dogs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgian...Dog_(Tervuren)

Have you considered a rescue? There are several good ones in your area.
