Bird Cage...too soon?

I am going to get a Galah Cockatoo within the next 6-12 months. Silly me, I've already begun searching for a bird cage.
I honestly don't want to miss out on any great deals. I found a large cage on Craigslist (72'' tall, 40'' wide, 30'' deep) for $100. Awesome. I'm going to take a look at it this Saturday.
Soooo....I guess it's going to just sit in my room for a while. Or maybe, I'll get the bird earlier that I planned.....I'm just not sure.
Do you think it's ridiculous that I'm getting a cage now? I was thinking that I'll just gradually fill it with supplies over the months, instead of buying everything when I'm ready for the bird.

I don't think it is ever too early! If you find a large cage in good shape, for a good price? Go for it!

The larger parrots have incredible beak strength. They can disassemble cheap welds in a matter of seconds. So make sure that whatever cage you purchase is well made. Size is so important (you know, get the biggest cage you can afford and that will fit through your front door), but construction is also important.

I always thought Galah cockatoos were gorgeous.

Right!
Sooo...can most cages be disassembled? Because I know for a fact that this cage won't fit through the door. Lol

Macaws have always stood out to me, as far as their appearance goes, but that's the last thing you want to think about when getting a large Parrot. But I think the Galahs are adorable anyway.

In my experience, there are a lot of cheaply made cages out there. The good ones are expensive. I am trying to remember the name of the website that kind of walked you through the things to look for in a good cage. I can't remember what it was called, but it had some good information.

I like stainless steel. It is sturdy and safe, and doesn't rust.

So, the cages that can be disassembled are sometimes cheaply made?
How will I fit a huge cage in through the door? Lol
