Well, the wife has to provide a home for the kids whether she is in Italy this month or not. All the bikes and beds and such are not sent into storage while the apartment is let to someone else.

So, yes, your husband still has to provide his children a home, even if they are with you for one month.

She is taking advantage of what the court felt is her due. It is up to the Fiance to ensure that rules are adhered by, and if he won't that's his business.

He needs to take her back to court to get the alimony dropped. Supporting his kids is one thing...financing her trips to foreign countries is a completely different issue.

So he makes excuses for her. What does he feel guilty about? He should be angry that she has a new man to support her and is leeching off of him. But it's up to him to make that decision.

As far as the child support, if he can prove he has the kids half the time the court will probably reduce the support given to her.

But...again...it's all based on his decision to put his foot down.

The kids live here 60% of the time. They get sent to school from here, they have rooms here and they live 5 minute bike ride down the road. This is 100% their home. They are not every other weekend children they are, thurs to monday here.

Doesn't work that way. A friend of mine is in similar situation while the kid is with him 80% of the time. It takes more than an act of congress to make changes in such settlements. Also a vast majority of the women on match.com (in the 40's section) are the ones where the kids are 16-17 years old, they finally realize the paycheck is going to stop in a year!

It does work that way. It depends on where you live and if you have a good lawyer. But it most certainly works that way.

I think you are right about the location! Some parts of the country are seeing it where some parts are still living in the old ages.

It can vary from county to county! And judge to judge! One of our judge's threw my friend's ex wife out of the courtroom and told her he never wanted to see her back there. AND reduced his child support. LEECHES

Anyways. I wrote this while I was really upset. I can see why some think its a jab at him paying for his kids and me being upset which its not. The child support is not the problem the child support being spent in italy on things that are mot the children is a problem. The alimony should have ceased 2 years ago when the boyfriend who is quite nice fully moved in to her home. I pm"d a mod to shut it down and make it dissappear because I feel terrible for posting it.
