New Bird!!

I know it may seem sudden, considering I just asked some questions earlier today, but I got a bird!! A Cockatiel. He is 8 weeks old and very easily held and handled. I went to a shop that specializes in birds. Fell in love.
Well, here is Arka!

Congrats! If this baby is really only 8 weeks, be aware he could regress and beg to be handfed from the stress of moving to a new environment. How long has he been weaned for?
When I worked at the bird store, most cockatiels weren't fully weaned until about 12 weeks. They and cockatoo's are really, really slow to wean(emotions play into it I think!). Where as a budgie would fill its crop with millet and the next day refuse all formula...eating on its own from the moment it discovered seed or pellets.

Thank you for the info!
The man who sold me the bird said that he was eating seed, and he actually gave me some he was used to and told me to mix it with what I bought, so that he would know to eat it.

Thank you all!
It's very difficult to resist taking him out of the cage, but I want him to get comfortable with his surroundings.

Looks like a cinnamon? Do you know what the parents were? Many times cinnamons are females(sex linked color) If you notice a begging noise and s/he isn't eating much let the store owner know. They can't go very long without eating when they are very young.
