I have the dyson mini/all surfaces and I have 2-7 dogs in the house at any given time. I've had it for over 2 years and it's still working fabulously.

So yes, I would say it is worth it!

People who have them love them.

I have the shark professional (and three dogs). I love it.

Oh, I absolutely love mine! I have 2 parrots, 2 cats, 1 GSD (with another one on the way) and it performs marvelously. My husband surprised me with one last Christmas and if I could, I would spoon my Dyson in bed every single night.

We have 2, the model before the ball standing type, (my mother has the newer ball type and hates it). And the quick hand held model, both are amazing.

Which Animal? I have a 14 and IMO would probably buy a refurbed 14 if/when mine dies and not the newer models. All of the newer ones I've researched have less suction and much smaller tanks. I have 4 dogs right now (2 GSDs, 1 pit bull, and 1 very large mix with more hair than a GSD) and I use mine several times a week. I have a small, older home with a basement so it's basically 3 stories with every surface imaginable (carpet, rugs, real hardwood, tile, and concrete). I also use it on my van about once a week. I've had it for about 5 years. Last year I had to get the cord replaced b/c a dog chewed it and my electric tape repair eventually failed. A few months ago, I replaced the tank and the filters (I broke the tank myself and got new filters since I was already ordering a part).
