Waste of a Sign?

Not sure how I feel about this yet, posted in a nearby town. It's cute but the town has so many other issues..... besides this.
Would it bother you?

It seems redundant. I mean who doesn't know that. If someone is going to be rude and leave it then I doubt a sign is going to make a difference.

Why in the world would it bother you? Is it offensive to remind people of something?

I live in a beautiful seaside community that's got more dog poop on the ground than 'Animal Waste Ordinance' signs - and there seems to be one of those every 500 feet. Some of the neighbors have put up creative signs like this. It helps, a bit.

Others have that cut out of the white dog squatting with the dangling poop that says NO. I find the dangling thing redundant and have to supress the urge to pull that poop off.

Still, as nice as neighborhood as this is, ignorant is as ignorant does. Last person I asked nicely 'I have an extra bag if you need it' verbally assaulted me! Her dog was offlead too and I was ready to pepperspray the pair of them if they came anywhere near me and Otto.

A friend of mine who paints signs for a living once told me- "people don't read signs" . I asked him why he said that, and he answered- " they don't have the time to read some stupid sign telling them what to do" . Go figure- Bob

A sign like that wouldn't bother me at all. It provides a good reminder and good information. Where I live, this is pretty much already drilled into everyone's head. But, my travels would suggest that there are a lot of areas of the country where a friendly reminder is warranted.

Yes, sign apathy.

The town I live in (not the one with this sign) chose to provide doggie poop bag dispensaries all over town and trash cans too. This is overall effective. It seems they need put the trash cans with the bags, otherwise people would bag their dogs poop, but leave it at the base of the post!

That sign is just begging for graffiti artists.
Like the one on the fuel pumps that has a police officer threatening the drive offs.
