There was nothing to notify on. For heaven's sake the language is tamer than what most pre-teens used 30 years ago -- duesch bag. Come on, you are going to close someone's thread who is considering putting down a dog they had for five years because of a tiny, pre-teen word?

I'm sorry but that's insane.

The thread was about a real issue that a family is dealing with on their dog. It had some real discussion critical about a dog's life or death There was some back and forth, nothing terrible, in a highly charged and emotional-type thread that it could be, considering the topic.

If we cannot discuss hard dog-related topics on this site, why are we here?

I would suggest starting a generic thread about dogs biting kids. This isn't new territory for this site.

These type of 'dog bit kid' threads follow two tangents 1) should the dog be euthd ASAP because it bit a kid? 2) sometimes (and this happened with the lady in Texas whose dog was acting up around kids and packman offered to take the dog) the 'OMG how can you trust this person/rescue' tangent. Which is sorta ironic given we have rescue sub forums here advertising dogs for adoption to strangers all day, every day.

I would be the other person. I laughed about it. I laughed about the whole thing bc everything is black or white. There are no grey areas. It's one way or another. Not with just me. You can't make a comment without someone getting offended by it bc they disagree or think to emotionally or whatever.

Nothing is personal here. All the name calling was "funny" in my opinion since it's such a random word and reminds me of the people from jersey shore lol. (All into themselves) ironic huh?

It's all in fun. Trying to prove your right or prove someone else wrong. It's the internet. You can't take anything seriously, everyone is a professional and knows all about all.

I'm guilty of this. But that's how I was raised. I have my beliefs and I will fight to the bitter end. I'm a strong willed person who believes in himself (even when I'm wrong and can't admit it. It takes a stronger person to admit their wrong than to just keep arguing)

Anyways. Nothing I've said is meant to be personal and to offend. Just get caught up in the moment trying to prove a point.

If I offended anyone, I apologize and hope we can "archive" our differences and as they say

Why cant we be friends. Why can't we be friends!!!! Haha

As far as notifying the mods, that's a slippery slope. Sensitive people will send PMs on a regular basis.
Yeah I never got a chance to say anything about how are a lot of us have GSD's that don't live with kids but are still safe around kids. ( not unsupervised of course!) Hmm..but I guess I just did!

I think we need to crank up the e-collars around here, people are being a little too aggressive with shutting down threads.

its human to ask a question, and get many different answers, and opinions, especially on the subject of putting a dog down, lot of people here are very passionate about the GSD, including myself, and sometimes the discussion gets heated, thats natural and normal behaviour
