Talking Ever have a treat "Oopsies"?

When I was in high school my younger brother ended up eating one of those Beggin Strips. He loved beef jerky & thought it was that. He had no second thoughts about taking a bite, but explained quite quickly that it tasted wrong. In his defense they just started selling them so he had no idea beforehand by looks that it was actually a dog treat.

Another time cat related though. We had to move a large bag of catnip to a ziplock bag because the cats ate a hole into the original bag. My dad found it on top of the refrigerator. He comes into the front room holding the bag looking all serious. He says, "Kids! We need to have a talk." When we finally stopped laughing, we explained to him it was catnip. Hahaha

When I was 8, I had no clue my parents had bought wet dog food for my dog. The day before I had tried Pate for the first time. I saw the plastic container sitting in the fridge with the wet, pasty looking food in it and I thought it was Pate. I spooned out a portion and began eating it on crackers. Afterwards, I told my Mum that I thought the Pate tasted better the first day as it had a funny taste to it the second day. She looked at me in horror and said, "Honey...we ate it all yesterday!"

I showed her the dish and she informed me that I had been eating wet dog food.

In all honesty...it didn't taste bad at all...just weird.

Well, not a treat but I accidentally got a mouthful of K9 godog (dog sports drink with a chicken flavor). I just did not think and it was in my belt pouch. I sure spit that stuff out fast though and rinsed with the regular water.

A very traditional elderly woman was enjoying a good game of bridge with her girlfriends one evening. "Oh, no! I have to rush home and fix dinner for my husband! He`s going to be really ticked if it`s not ready on time!" she exclaimed suddenly.
When she got home, she realized that she didn`t have enough time to go to the supermarket, and all she had in the cupboard was a wilted lettuce leaf, an egg, and a can of cat food. In a panic, she opened the can of cat food, stirred in the egg, and garnished it with the lettuce leaf just as her husband pulled up.
She greeted her husband and then watched in horror as he sat down to his dinner. To her surprise, the husband really enjoyed his dinner. "Darling, this is the best dinner you have made for me in forty years of marriage. You can make this for me any old day."
Needless to say, every bridge night from then on, the woman made her husband the same dish. She told her bridge cronies about it and they were all horrified.
"You`re going to kill him!" they exclaimed.
Two months later, her husband died.
The women were sitting around the table playing bridge when one of the cronies said, "You killed him! We told you that feeding him that cat food every week would do him in! How can you just sit there so calmly and play bridge knowing you murdered your husband?"
The wife stoically replied, "I didn't kill him. He fell off the mantel while he was licking his butt."

I've seen similar jokes to this one before (using dog food, and saying the husband was killed chasing a car)... and for some reason I canNOT stop cackling at this like an idiot today.

As a youngster, apparently one day my parents found me sitting in the kitchen with the cats, sharing their kibble... one for me, one for kitty, one for me, one for kitty. I think they put the food up after that.

As a teen, my friends and I tried out some of the dog biscuits, and a few of them weren't terrible. I can't remember which ones were any good, but I can say for sure that Liv-O-Snaps were pretty awful, those I do remember.

When I worked at various pet stores, I've tested out a biscuit here and there just for kicks, but never found any that tasted worth a darn. I guess I just don't like the same things the dogs do?

In the last training class I was in, I had found that the current dog's FAVORITE treats EVER were turkey sausage bites (human ones), so I grabbed a couple bags of them, and had put them into my little treat training bags to carry them in. Without even thinking about it at one point, I snuck a couple into my mouth, and noticed that I was suddenly getting REALLY GOOOD focus from my dog, so I randomly spat a little piece of one at her while she was just sitting there looking at me. The looks I got that night were priceless, and we all had a good laugh when I explained just what treats I was using that night. I've turned myself into a human pez dispenser more than once since then.

When my daughter was a toddler, I made a birthday cake for her. My family was coming over to help celebrate her birthday.

She proudly stuck dog bisquit treats into her cake. I didn't notice until my family was at the house. They thought I seriously stuck the dog treats into the cake. We were all laughing and my daughter reached over, grabbed one off the cake and ate it. I thought it was funny, my mother was horrified.

We grew up with a lab that was freefed. My mom started babysitting for this couple and my mom noticed one day that the younger son (around 1.5 years old at the time) was missing so she looked around the corner and he was sitting at the dog bowl eating the kibble happily and "sharing" with the dog that had a WTH look.

He kept trying to get back to eat more and she had to end up moving the food completely so it wasn't accessible anymore.
