Looking for nutrition advice..
Isn't it funny how I have searched and searched for other forums on the subject as reliable as this one is.. and didn't find one.. and the thought crossed my mind that hey! why not ask here... I am positive people have advice to give on the subject..
I'm not looking for a strict diet plan more just small changes to my current "diet." I am a fairly healthy person. I'm in the military and am very very active, exercising an hour a day, 5 days a week. I try my hardest to eat well, but I love food, lol, so I slip.
Basically it's this.. I am deployed right now for the next 7 months. I am not unhappy entirely with my weight and figure, however, I have some small complaints, of which I know are fixable, but I am not as knowledgeable as I would like to be on the subject. I would ideally like to lose about 15 pounds. More so in my mid section/love handles.
Like I said I work out regularly, and I eat regular meals 3 times a day with 2 small snacks in between.. The chow hall here is all I have so food choices are not entirely my choice. I do have the ability to make sandwiches with what I think is wheat bread  and salads. I generally try to eat fruit for my morning snack and usually a cliff bar, or a healthy single size cereal without milk. meals honestly vary on whatever is being served so that's the hard part. and I generally limit my desserts to once or twice a week.
Agian, I don't need a meal plan, I just know that working out alone doesn't really work for the midsection, a lot has to do with diet.. of which I am working on.. just looking for people's opinions and advice from others that know a little more on the subject. Thanks and advance! :o
This is how I often eat. I didn't know there was an official name for it until I read an article on pre-diabetes. It's called the Plate Method. Half your plate is salad or veggies or fruit, 1/4 is protein, 1/4 is carb.
Look into hooping!
Nothing is more fun and more effective than a weighted (or even non weighted) hoop. Burns calories while you watch TV, if you have room.
And when you use it energetically, it is an intense ab workout, and although it is impossible to target in one area, it is possible to tone that area while losing overall fat.

and to get a weighted hoop (not over 3 pounds or it strains your back), I ordered from them and am very happy with their product, plus they will custom make it any way you like:
You can also try drinking apple cider vinegar 2tsp in a large glass of water 1x-2x day.
Bragg Live Foods, Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar, Bragg Liquid Aminos,Systemic Enzymes, Bragg Live Organic Food Products, Patricia Bragg, Paul Bragg, Bragg Organic Olive Oil, Bragg Salad Dressings, Bragg Seasonings, Bragg Health Products
I know your were looking for more nutrition advice, but exercises to the mid-section, to help move things along (peristalsis) will keep food from sitting too long, also get some good sources of fiber too.
Thank you guys! and I wasn't really entirely sure waht exactly I was looking for. lol just wanted to target a certain area that seems to be the problem area for a lot of women. I've never had to diet or exercise because i've always been thin, butwell.. you get older and things change, lol. Thanks for the advice I will look into all that :)
