I am so sorry that you have been miserable. I am one of those that have lived here my whole life and I can't imagine being anywhere else. There is so much to do and see in this state. I couldn't live without snow and I couldn't live anywhere that was hot(I hate the heat). I hope that everything works out for you!!

Congrats on the big step. It's scary, but I'm sure you two will be fine!

When the hubby and I moved, we didn't have a vehicle between us and our friends to hold a fully opened kennel, so we bought extra large cat carriers and put a towel down with a few pee pads inside. It wasn't the best thing in the world, but it worked and they didn't seem too cranky about it.

The car we had to tow up to NY was a Neon. That's not a very large car. I used my old camry to move a few times, and with even one dog I had a problem. Zira used to be crammed in the back seat. lol It's much easier with the Jeep now.
It was CRAMMED - but we were in University and didn't care... the dogs and cats had more room than we did... LOL...

Oh the things we did... LOL.....

But... I gotta say.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE my van now... LOL.

LOL! Yeah, I've been there too... I am definitely thrilled to have an SUV now! Life is so much easier when it comes to moving stuff around and getting the dogs out. I wish I had pictures of moving with the Camry... the poor dogs just looked pathetic. It was like playing tetras! lol! Sometimes you just have to do whatever it takes. It worked though... many times!

I'm so sorry that you're unhappy, but if moving to CA would make y'all happy then I say GO FOR IT!!!

In order to save some gas $$$, could you rent the van and rent a car tow dolly and tow your car (loaded down with as much as possible) behind the van?

GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide to do!!!
