Thank you for this. They will deliver to PO boxes too.

"Once implemented during August of 2013, mail delivery to street addresses will occur Monday through Friday. Packages will continue to be delivered six days per week. Mail addressed to PO Boxes will continue to be delivered on Saturdays. Post Offices currently open on Saturdays will remain open on Saturdays."

I would pay an extra tax to have USPS screen my mail for spam!

I collect fountain pens and am on the Yahoo groups Fountain Pen Collecting, and we have a snail mail list. Our rates are beyond bargain.. It costs me $1.10 to mail to Australia. The letter back costs $2.20.
Canada Domestic .63 US 1.10, International 1.85

Personally I could care less if I get Saturday delivery or not. My only wish is that they'd quit giving advertisers/catalogs/etc cheap bulk rates which would decrease my weekly trash by about 80%.

Thought I read somewhere that if not for junk mail, USPS would be in much bigger trouble. People are switching away from paper billing, bank statements and such, less legit mail = less revenue.

As unpopular as bulk mail is with receipents, I'm surprised the post office hasn't turned things around and started charging customers for home delivery ... $20 a month per house, something like that. If people pick their mail up at the PO. the price would be less ... $10 more or less.

I prefer Saturday's because I'm usually home or can get off work since my job has more employees staffed on the weekends. If I have a package that cannot stay outside during the extreme heat; I have a neighbor in the complex that is willing to take the package for us, and people are usually home more so on the weekends as well.

My dogs like Saturday delivery because I am home so they can be outside and get a treat from the mail lady
