Default Goose!!!

Walked into work tonight to find out this was my only patient

Kind of a cool and different night. Of course I am spending most of it scrubbing the bathroom and lounge floors... lol

I have so many of these by me...goose poop everywhere I would much rather watch them from afar. I actually seen someone hit one on purpose, of course I had to get out of the car, tie up traffic, and move the poor thing to the side of the road. It was sad because it was either the he or she in the family along with 4 babies. At first the one that was still alive watched me, but I wasn't worried about an attack, I was amazed because it wouldn't let the babies near the dead one, it had the small ones follow it to the pond. Even a goose protects their young from bad things

What happen to the goose? Will he recover?
I don't mind them, but Bear has a fondness for goose poop so I try and stay away from areas that have a lot of them.

He was found by a good samaritan, they believed he had a broken leg or wing because there was blood and the goose would not fly. When they brought him in to us we treated with IM pain medications over night until a wildlife rescue could come get him in the morning.

Sadly, they discovered he had been shot MULTIPLE times, and he was euthanized

How heartbreaking. I have no problem with legal hunting, people that know how to shoot and know what they're doing! But this poor bird was shot multiple times and left to suffer and die

How sad Its illegal to kill them here, so when I seen that guy hit that one I was highly upset. I have goose poop everywhere and they are around here all year round...I even walk down the block to get them out of the street because I never want to see them get killed.

I've heard that too and they are always paired off by me..I wonder if they find another mate if one of them dies?
