Ouch, as an army wife, I find it disheartening that you would use your time in the service to try to make a point or get your way. Forums on the internet are not all from America first of all and secondly they are privately owned and operated. The owner of the forum is very well within their rights.

And thirdly, this is a German Shepherd dog forum. We are lucky this chat section even exists (or that people are allowed to create spin-off threads...I am on another forum where once a thread is closed the issue is done and you can contact admin privately if you need and explanation). I doubt the owner is paying so that we can have a soapbox for various political platforms.

I have only been around for a couple of years, but I have seen plenty of times where posts go way off subject..politically and into religion..I think maybe we are being too hard on Wink...He has said he was offended..that is a real emotion..and should not be scolded because of it..

I was here when political discussions got banned. I want to say it was during the 2008 election year. Aside from the nasty fights people would get in, it would detract attention from the threads that actually matter on a German shepherd forum, the threads about dogs. There were a lot of posts that had no responses because many people's attention was with the political debates. That takes away from the reason we are all here and why this board exists in the first place.

I believe the offending post was simply deleted and people are responding to the statement of offense taken and intent to leave and not that a viloation of board rules was unknowingly breached.

I would imagine the Mod who removed it probably sent a short statement about the rule concerning political posts.
