No word yet on the position...I'm giving them some time, however. They told me they would deliberate hopefully by the end of the week (They didn't specify if that was by Friday, today..Or by Monday)...So I'm not sure when I'll hear back, really.

I like finding applicable quotes to situations, feelings, emotions, etc. One I've found that applies to this whole ride I've been on:

"Never expect. Never assume. Never ask. And never demand. Just let it be. If it's meant to be, it will happen."

- Unknown

I won't expect or assume this job is mine. I can't ask why I've been given a second opportunity for employment with this company. Demanding an explanation is out of the question...And now I need to let it be. It's out of my hands, I've done the best I can. If I'm meant to have this position, I'm meant to have it. What will be will be.

It'll happen when it happens. Not a moment sooner. (that is by my mother!)

So, no news today...And I know I won't hear anything over the weekend, so it looks like Monday will be the earliest I can expect to know. I really hope that the fact they're taking longer to deliberate is a good thing...

The way I see it:

In the email I received asking for a second interview, I was told one that of the three interviewees was leading the way. Well, obviously something about this person "leading the way" isn't to their liking, or they would have hired them already and the position would be filled, end of story. The other two, of the three candidates would be out of the equation...But, now I've been thrown into the mix again, bringing it up to four people. I see one of two likely scenarios:

Of the three people that were in question, before bringing me back, one is the strong candidate and the other two would have been dropped. The hiring process would have ended. Now that I've been interviewed again, however, either the weaker two candidates are now out of the question and they're deliberating between the one "leading the way" and myself....OR, they didn't care for me during the second interview and are just left to tell the person leading the way that they have the position. In which case, however, why would they not have let me know by now that I am not a good fit for the company?

Hopefully all of that makes sense...There may be more scenarios, more factors, but I think those are the most likely. In which case, If the first scenario is what's happening, I'm trying to look at the longer deliberation as a positive thing. As I've said many times, I'm prepared for disappointment, and am happy I've made it this far. It's been a great experience and an excellent teaching tool for me, as I've never had the opportunity for employment with such an impressive, important company.

I suppose all I can do is bide my time, wait, and see what this ride has in store for me...

One last thing... An interesting fortune that I got around the time I first applied for the position. Not that I believe these things hold any weight, I just thought it was kind of coincidental.
