Losing touch with the forum

This is how I feel: I feel like many people lose touch with the forum after a certain amount of time. And new people come and take over. Many people stop posting after a while...Why does this happen? Where do these people go? Do they become lurkers? I mean there are A LOT of dedicated posters...I know I feel like I've lost touch but it feels like a lot of the posters that I used to see, I don't see any more...:c

Do you feel like this as well?

I don't think there is anything wrong with new people coming aboard. I do find that when some people disappear(not mentioning any names) that I do wonder if they are doing well. I wish some people would post more and some post less, but it all balances out.

I sure hope its not a problem with me posting. I swore I would be more active here this year, instead of lurking.Although if I see its going to be a huge discussion, and probably be locked, I stay far away I am not exactly new. I was here before the forums changed, I forget even what my name was back then in 2004. I can tell you right now, the forums are allot better now then back then. The forums helped me allot back then with issues I was having with TAZ, and Taz's death is what brought me back here. I was feeling real bad, and the people here helped me get through it...for that I thank them, and if I feel I can help someone out with an issue that I have had before. I don't mind trying to help them.

Funny, i only have 1330 posts since 2008. Guess i'm busy at nite and have a limited time for forums. To say i work full time is an understatement.

This happens in all forums. I belong to a couple horse-related forums. One got to be so much arguing and snarking and just rediculous drama, they forgot we were supposed to be discussing our horses....and I bailed.
Joined a private forum with much less drama.

Im here to soak up information on GSD's.....and share what little I know.

I think that it's pretty normal to go in and out of posting. I too have been on here for a long time, since before the board changed, but don't always post or even lurk much. Seems like it takes a "dog issue" to get be back on.

I used to be on another forum, a military spouse board, until just the last week or so where I posted nearly daily. The drama in my personal life combined with the drama on that board caused me to post less and less. and even on the two forums where I was a moderator, I didn't post as much. I finally deactivated that account.

I don't expect that I'll post consistently here, but I always know it's here if I need it!

I agree with others who have posted. I think it is natural for participation in an online forum to wax an wane depending on what else is going on in a person's life and the current dynamics of the board itself.

I don't post here that often but when I do it tends to happen in spurts. That is because there are times when I don't even visit this forum for months as I am busy with other things.

I do enjoy the regulars on here and I have to say I do miss it when one of them stops posting. I'm really not sure why that is. It is not as though I know them personally.
