How can I track a package from US to Canada? - Page 2

We were just having this same discussion on another forum. Apparently if you want a package tracked you can NOT use USPS. You have to use UPS, which works but will cost a mint!

Every single day I either receive from or ship to USA from Canada .
Your shipper should provide you with a tracking number , available if the use an expedited service .
When checking on the transit of your parcel you may find that it has arrived in Canada and is sitting in Customs . If that is the case you have to sit and wait . The tracking information will clearly state that you can not contact any person to ask about the status of your package . If product or contents are banned , you will not get notification , you simply will not recieve your order --. The package may be destroyed (or returned to shipper? not sure of this).
One time a package , which I needed , was held up for over 3 months , in the line-up to be examined by Customs .

she is buying from a USA source and receiving in Canada.

Customs no matter where will deliver and the Post Office will charge and collect taxes and duties if required before releasing package to you.

Daily , I ship , multiple packages to USA customers , including large orders to shops . Daily I recieve parcels from my sources whether it be 5 gallon containers of oil , or specialty items which are botanical .

She may be ordering something which is banned .

Carm I think she is in California and has shipped to canada via USPS.

This may be a person to person shipment and the package didn't have a clear description of contents so has been flagged at the border.

She hasn't specified if this was something she ordered from a retailer and had sent to canada

absolutely , you have to be detailed in your customs declaration .

Thanks for all your responses didn't even think would get so many, anyway. I shipped from US to Canada and labeled it as key chain $50 value...and when I went to canadapost.com to track it it shows no results..which means its in US still?Grrrr

did you double check the postal code (zip )

contact the person you sent it to and they can track the movement in the Canada Post --

When you ship a package USPS you can ask for a tracking number at the time you post I think it has to go priority post it costs more I know that.

Package was finally received couple of days ago, reason for delay is unknown.

What's odd is that the other two packages that were lost got delivered as well. Even though they were all sent different times and destinations...
