Every animal I have had has been so unique, and I believe if there is an afterlife that animals will certainly be part of it. Near-death experiences are fascinating to me, and many of them have reported seeing former pets in the next life.

I find the idea that humans are so superior that only we would be important to God repugnant. Animals are easy to love (not to mention, humans are animals too).

Wolfy Dog, this was a wonderful post! It reminds me of the last part of the Rainbow Bridge poem. I am sure that my four-legged buddies will be there when I get there.

His injuries were not underestimated as they (doctors) healed him and he is perfectly sane and lives happily with his newly adopted Chihuahua.

Humans are animals just as dogs. That puts us on the same after life playing field as they are. No matter what you believe in, god-no god, after life-no after life we are both animals. So if a dog is "just an animal" then you are merely "just an animal".

Oh, and this story made my heart warm. I believe in after life for all living creatures.

Per Pope John Paul (1990)

Quote:
'also the animals possess a soul and men must love and feel solidarity with our smaller brethren,"
Beliefs are personal. I believe there are animals in the afterlife. While I don't believe in the Christian God, I think it's fairly presumptuous to assume his plans for creatures he supposedly made.

What a great story.

I also believe in the afterlife and believe animals are a part of it.

Has anyone ever had their pets blessed? They have a priest come out to an event and do a blessing of the animals. Everyone gathers around him and he says a prayer, then you walk past him and he does the holy water thing. I go every year with my dogs.
