I think it is disgusting...i think it would scare children to see it and I don't see any value what-so-ever in it

Works for me. I don't think the ad is *for* kids.

I agree it's an ad for adults. But if a kid saw it I could see it scaring him/her.

It scared the heck out of me. Looks like it was straight out of a Thriller/Horror Movie.

Maybe scary...but will it effectively make parents stop drinking?? Don't think so...

It's definitely memorable and rather hard hitting. But to be honest, it's not a patch on the anti drinking adverts we get over here. Our ones are downright traumatizing.

Seeing it, I just worried about the little kid 'actors',
especially that one being buckled in the car, he looked
genuinely frightened, respiration increase, even, how
in the heck do you explain to one of them what that's
about? Or the little girl struggling with the weird guy...
just doesn't seem right.

This scared the crap out of me, and I'm 21. But, I'd have to say it's spot on. That's exactly how I saw my mother when I was 6-14 years old.

I don't see it as being effective geared towards adults though. The sad fact is that most alcoholics don't realize or believe they have a problem. This commercial contains a "hidden" message that they wouldn't understand either. While most of us can see it, to an alcoholic or just a substance abuser in general they won't make the association between fear and children.

I like it. People don't always see themselves as others see them. I think it sends a great message.
