The polar ice cap is at the smallest extent ever recorded. Glaciers are receeding more rapidly than anyone predicted.

And it is 45 degrees and raining here in Alaska in January. So, yeah, greater weather extremes is not the norm, not the exception now. Hurricane Sandy anyone?
I wasn't exactly kidding about global warming.

Well it was 67 here in Northeastern Ohio yesterday. Its 32 now. I enjoyed it but next week highs of 19 are being called for.I hope that the SW and the SE and the Midwest get some moisture this winter.

I'd like for this thread not to go in the direction of a discussion over global warming, please...

I took photos of the ice and made this thread to be light-hearted, as most people know that ice is not a common occurrence in a place like Phoenix.

It's been insanely warm here. SoMD isn't known for its winters, but it's been in the 50-70s over the last few weeks. I haven't put my summer clothes away yet! I'm hoping we get a cold snap, but I doubt it highly. This is shaping up to be my first winter without snow since I moved from Pittsburgh.

A cold place in AZ? Try the high elevations of the White Mountains near the NM border. Summer lows often are freezing or colder. ... and because of the 9000 foot elevation, a lot more precipitation than most other Arizona places..... :snow ing::sno wflake::snowflake :
