Post a controversial question... a serious and slightly provocative one like "Why is there a split between show lines and working lines and when did it start?" Might want to add a slightly accusatory comment like "I guess working line people don't care what their dogs look like" or "I guess show line people don't care if their dogs can REALLY work" and you'll have a 25-page thread in no time.

Or...another of my favorites....

"I hate everyone and you are all mean so I am leaving!!! "

2000 posts later the person is still here arguing about why they are leaving.

Sometimes I find it frustrating that threads that are labelled "Want To Breed My 8 Month Old HD GSD For The 5th Time" type topics get far more traffic and attention than any other topics on the board.

Most, if not all of the new threads I have started get little or no traffic on them at all. It's not that I'm out for attention here. But it would be nice to have normal discussions and banter with people that isn't fuelled by attacks on the mistakes/ignorance of others.

So I'm just wondered...is it something I said? Why am I so invisible? Do I need to become more cutthroat or something?

Rant over.
If I had $1 for every post of mine that's been ignored or blown off I'd be rich and famous. I learned a long time ago that when you post on message boards you have to have a thick skin and check your feelings at the door.

I'm not anywhere near as active on the board as I used to be. Nothing personal.

A lot of times I just have nothing new to say. I also try to stay away from controversy such as showline vs. workingline. I alos discovered that reading too many threads about aggression makes me paranoid. I managed a three female household for 10 years without incident and currently have a nicely balanced mature male GSD and an adolescent female pit but if I spend too much time on this board I start getting paranoid.

I looked at the threads you started over the last month, and to tell you the truth, there just isn't enough knowledge on this board for people to comment on them.

Pedigree questions...people generally sit and wait for the 5 people on the forum that actually have enough knowledge on pedigrees/dogs to comment on 3rd 4th and possibly 5th generation dogs.

Feeding questions...I know I get annoyed when a person won't just do a search of the forum to possibly find their answer. Not saying you didn't do that, but the whole "am I feeding my puppy too much" thing has been asked a few times before.

Aggression thread...interesting one, I'm guessing most people probably said get the first dog fixed before you consider getting a second one, and since many don't have experience with that kind of situation they just didn't comment.

But if you commented in a thread and got "ignored." I'd consider that a good thing, it means people generally agree with you and have nothing to dispute with what you wrote. I've rarely done a quote and ^agree thing. Kind of a waste of space and time in my opinion to just repeat what someone else has stated.
