do i remove or head to dr (I have an apt at 11)? Head is buried

no idea how i didn't notice till i took a shower this AM, it hurts all around

I just normally pop them off but with that much inflammation and pain, I might see a doctor. I have not seen one burrowed in like that before. I have a tick twister I got from Petco that has rave reviews (I have not used it but it is supposed to remove the mouthparts).

Yuck, if you already have a doctors appointment I would wait and let them deal with it.

If its pretty bad, I would go to the DR. (Sorry I can quite look at the photo, ticks scare the crap out of me!) Especially if its hurting. That's something you're probably wanting to get the Dr to look at. It sounds like its been there for quite a while. I've had plenty of ticks and I don't think I've had one that was buried under the skin.

me either, it is bizarre it is buried like that. I assume it is a tick, I am not aware of other bugs that dig in like that. its legs are still moving lol

Yeah, I normally feel them before they latch on. Even been awakened at night by them. I imagine they will give you a strong course of preventive antibiotics! Glad you are going. I would do nothing because covering it with vaseline or whatever can cause it to eject its stomach contents. I know doing nothing is hard because I know you want it off right now!

yeah i know not to do that, i took a big bandaid that has all 4 sides with adhesive and put it over it. so if it backs out, i still have it for them.

i just want it off/out of me! lol

Maybe you could go to an Urgent Care? I mean, if you want it off now.

LOL he has an appt for 11. I bet they would keep dropping you to the bottom of the triage pile at urgent care and he would probably get to take the flu home.
