pick your friends wisely; Ive let a couple of friends go, because it was a one way street. its good that you are getting this off your chest, very frustrating and we have all been in this situation, live and learn and try to let the bitterness go,(very hard i know). and last but not least, "you cant pick your family", but the good news is that you CAN PICK YOUR FRIENDS.

Aww that sucks ... I too, like most people on here, have learned that the hard way ... and I too, like most people, have simply "dropped" friends and relied on myself. Thankfully, I do have three friends that would help me at the drop of a hat, but it does suck when the other "friends" don't reciprocate.

I hope you get the help you need tomorrow....

It sucks when you find that people who you thought would stick by you don't - and then you get surprised when other people step up and go way beyond anything you would have thought...

I found out how good some of my friends were this year when I got hurt....some of it unexpected....I am so thankful for them....

you know....I've been on the other end of your situation :c. I lean on and rely on a lot of people but simply don't have the energy, drive, desire or whatever you call it to reciprocate. It's mean, I know.

Anyway, I'd hope I'd be there for you if you needed it...No one is perfect and I agree that you should never expect anything from anyone even those that you've done a lot for...

I drove myself with my arm in a brace up the mountain in a snowstorm to get to a doctors appointment, after a person who I thought was a good friend backed out on me for the nth time. I finally realized we were only friends when she needed something, and decided I didn't need that in my life any longer.
