Favorite Fictional Character an Quotes by Them

A post on another thread put this in my mind. So I figured to ask. (:

Who is your all-time favorite fictional character? What book or movie/TV show are they from? What are a few of your favorite quotes by him/her? Why do you like them so much?

Mine is Acheron, from Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon.
Quotes:
"Just because you can doesn't mean you should."
“It's easy to look at people and make quick judgments about them, their present and their past, but you'd be amazed at the pain and tears a single smile hides. What a person shows to the world is only one tiny facet of the iceberg hidden from sight. And more often then not, it's lined with cracks and scars that go all the way to the foundation of their soul.”
“The past is dead. Tomorrow will become whatever decision you make it."
“How could one sentence uttered in anger cause so much damage? But then words were the most powerful thing in the universe. Cuts and bruises always healed, but words spoken in anger were most often permanent. They didn’t damage the body, they destroyed the spirit."
“Actions that sometimes seem mean aren’t. Rather they are done by the ones we love in order to protect us without our knowing it."

I love him because the things he says have become a part of my own thought process. Simply because I connect well. I also love how sarcastic he can be :p

Maybe not my 'all-time' favorite, but definitely one of them :D

Jamie Fraser, from Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.

The first quote that comes to mind, that I loved, is:

“When the day shall come that we do part, if my last words are not 'I love you', ye'll ken it was because I didna have time ..."

This is probably not what you were looking for, and not my all time favorite, bit this comes to mind: Jack Nicholson's character at the end of the movie, A Few Good Men, when he says, "you can't handle the truth"

A Few Good Men
written by Aaron Sorkin

Jessep: You want answers?
Kaffee (Tom Cruise): I think I'm entitled to them.
Jessep: You want answers?
Kaffee: I want the truth!
Jessep: You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.
We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a **** what you think you're entitled to!
Kaffee: Did you order the code red?
Jessep: (quietly) I did the job you sent me to do.
Kaffee: Did you order the code red?
Jessep: You're goddamn right I did!!

GsdLoverr729 - I really enjoyed reading what you posted!

My favorite character is Albus Dumbledore, he has some pretty awesome quotes that stand up even without their context....

"It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."

"After all to the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure."

"Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open."

"it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be."

"perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well."

"Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right."

"Scars can come in handy. I have one myself above my left knee that is a perfect map of the London Underground."

"There are all kinds of courage. It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends."

"That which Voldemort does not value, he takes no trouble to comprehend. Of house-elves and children’s tales, of love, loyalty, and innocence, Voldemort knows and understands nothing. Nothing. That they all have a power beyond his own, a power beyond the reach of any magic, is a truth he has never grasped."
