I like the purple idea. I think it fits better with the colorful wall!

I agree with a purple. Black shows every dust spec and white is too popping. I'd do a color that blends them all in or go with a deep turquoise or a deep jade.
What is going on the shelves? Last edited by onyx'girl; 12-30-2012 at 09:11 PM. |

I like the purple idea also but that is my favorite colour so I could be a bit biased!
After you're done with that, care to fly out to San Diego and do my house?

White or a royal blue. Purple would probably look OK too I just don't like that color.

not generally a popular choice but if you are looking for contrast as you say, a soft canary yellow or a sherbert orange may do the trick. since you have cooler colors already, warmer colors would make the bookshelf 'pop'. Or you go with a similar green with navy trim/stencils if you dont want be as loud.
black and white would work as they are technically colors that are absent of colors. sounds crazy but its true. |

I settled on a cream colour (I liked the idea of white and yellow, so mixed them!)
Then I got some stencils and did this to it ... not sure I like it or not so I only did two ... HONEST opinions ... if you think it sucks say so ... If you can recommend a stencil, please feel free!!! Shipping to Canada would be helpful if I can't find it in a store! The blue that is on one of the borders is the blue I would go with for the "new" stencil if that's what's chosen ... as well as the blue for all the borders and the feet. Thanks so much everyone, all the input is greatly appreciated!
