I have mine named too, she's Karin.
But I do get tired of her always having to 'recalculate'. What's with that anyways!!!!

My old one was "Evil woman" because of the strange backroads she took us. New one is "Lucy" because she won't stay stuck on the windshield.

I have the 2nd kind of mount and it slides all over the place but it was an aftermarket mount. And I even had an ideal spot in front of my temperature, mpg, clock console - flat and recessed.

Garmin.
I work around electronics and Tom Toms are consistently returned to the manufacturer for defects and random broken parts (shortly after purchase). The charging cord always breaks, and for some reason there's always a problem once it gets updated. I barely see a Garmin come back. I have one and it's 6 years old... still works great! All parts and accessories are originals, I have yet to replace anything. Easy, light weight, and reliable.

Thanks Alyssa! Is there any particular model that seems better? Is the 50LM a decent one?

It drains the battery so helps to always have a car charger to plus it in if you have to use it for GPS, but it's way more accurate than an actual GPS unit apparently, as it can find our house and the adopters last night were lost using their GPS unit
