When did you start to feel "old"? - Page 5

Actually since I was about 19 or so I've started having issues with my left hip joint. It makes me feel pretty darn old when I can't walk the dogs because my joints hurt too badly and I'm only 23 :/.

I remember the exact day I began to feel old. I was nineteen and my daughter was born. I think it was the same time grey hair started popping out of my head as well.

Too True Lillie. I actually have two boys...and so far I can't tell for the life of me yet why they say boys are easier than girls. The stress of keeping these guys from killing themselves is killing me!

I turned 60 the end of October and I guess I'm sort of like
Daisy and Lucky's Mom... it comes and goes. Earlier in the days
I seem to blast around doing all kinds of chores and yard work
and I'm fine... but later in the afternoons ugh the aches and
pains I hate myself, I hate complaining and I hate the grunts
and groans. I do have pretty good painkillers, but resent the
heck out of relying on them!

I felt really young a while back when I put a 40 pound bag
of dog food and a 20 pound sack of cat litter in an elderly
lady's trunk for her.

I felt really young when I sat an approx. 16 hand 1200 pound
horses bucks (he got stung by wasps, he's not a nasty horse!)
just fine.

Sometimes I feel like I should get an exercise bike in the living
room to watch tv, you know like the football players use on
the sidelines of games to keep warmed up. It's the cool downs
I think are the worst. Totally unlike my 20's, 30's or even 40's!

When my daughter and I went thru drive thru and the girl took my debit card, looked back at me and said she'd give me my senior discount! Kind of like "huh?" first time!

I started to feel old as soon as I turned 25. I started to develop a gluten intolerance. God forbid I eat half a muffin nowadays! My body goes nutty. I do plan on having a BLAST when I'm actually old though. Betty White is my hero.

50 was the magic number. We had a 2nd wind in our 40's. I think back and have no idea how. I kind of accepted a slower pace now and I don't get upset with myself for not having the drive of my younger self.
Then I sit here on a Saturday night and read a dog forum woo hoo!

when waiting at the dentists office and flipping thru magazines (not knowing any of the celebs) i start feeling old, lol

Most of my life was spent living summers and winters in Upstate NY (right by the Vermont border) and I LOVED it!! I loved skiing, hiking, camping.... It was a blast up there! However, once the back and knee pain started kicking in, and my blood thinned.... Yeah, not so much. Lol!

I still miss the snow, and want to visit up north again... but it will be just that, a visit!

I wouldn't mind a place with cooler summers though, the heat here is also killer!

I'll be another person to say 50. Two weeks after my birthday I had to go to urgent care for neck problems, unbearable pain, slipped discs, beginnings of arthritis, my hips hurt when I sit too long, and I must wear reading glasses. I could care less about what's hot on TV, movies, latest fads, etc.
