It takes so little energy to do a small kindness that means so much to someone else. Those small kindnesses seem to be the ones that come back to bless us the most. Here is my little "Christmas" story.....
Someone on our community yahoo group posted inquiring if anyone had a small tabletop artificial Christmas tree they no longer wanted. His elderly neighbor, Karen, had no tree. There weren't any responses. I thought, heck, how much could they cost? While at WalMart I found a small artificial tree, complete with white lights for only $10.00. When I got home, I called the number given for Karen. Imagine my surprise, when I discovered that over 20 years ago, I had worked with this woman. She was a dear lady, who was like the office mother to us younger folk. She was so appreciative of this silly little tree. I just felt so blessed to get to see her again. Small kindness for Karen. Huge blessing for me. It takes a lot less energy to be nice, than it does to be nasty. Hopefully, we will see more of this over the holiday season. Thank you for sharing the video. Jan |

Such a small world it is ... what a wonderful thought Jan ... I'm sure you made her week!!
What other stories do we have out there ... I liken this video to Random Acts of Kindness ... Every Friday (payday LOL) I pay for the order of the person behind me in the drive-thru line up. They know me really well at Tim's ... and one day the cashier bought my coffee ... he said I'd made lots of people smile from buying their coffee, that it was my turn to smile!!!

I'm bumping this video up and encouraging people to take 4 minutes to watch this video. You will have tears in your eyes, when you're done.

Great video! Last week my DH contact the Rosebud Indian Reservation. Every year we support a family through our daughter's old high school, but since she's not there anymore we decided to contact a family directly.
He contacted the reservation and asked if there was a particular family that was in need this year. We were told about a single woman with a 9 year old son trying to work her way through medical assistance school and we contacted her. He asked if it was ok to send her something and she cried on the phone because she said that she didn't think that her son would have anything for Christmas this year. Honestly, that made our Christmas knowing that in some small way we could help someone else that just needed a little something extra. I hope in the spirit of the season we see more random acts of kindness.
