I know we went away not to long ago over my family, and that was really nice. I can't wait to get alone with my husband, if that ever happens

Yes, today was awful. My head was spinning from a migraine yesterday and then aura migraine this morning making me very dizzy and feeling groggy and slow, then I check the news to find out about the school shooting and after watching a few hours of that coverage while working I felt numb. I work in IT for a HelpDesk/call center and someone called with a very demanding tone of voice and it was all I could do not to snap at her, like her world was really going to end because we couldn't drop everything and serve her even though we were just learning about 20 babies being shot dead and having a long queue of other customers who were already waiting for service? Luckily I took Nikon to work this morning so as soon as my shift was done I took my break, got him out of his kennel, took him for a walk outside, then snuck him in under my desk. No one around me cares even though he's technically not allowed inside but just having him sleep under my desk while I finished my work day calmed me down a bit.

Harmony, I have So been there! I hope you get to go on a get away with your hubbs!

My husband and I were laughing tonight at a memory where I was embittered with my husband for working in his uncles yard on his day off. I said I would give ANYTHING to do hard labor and just shut my brain off from all the energy that goes into being a parent and arguing that "No, that broom is NOT a light saber, and NO you may NOT hit your brother with it".....

Needless to say he gave me the day off, but sometimes it's just not enough!

I feel your pain. Between the dogs, kids and hubby, some days it takes all I have not to grab my keys and harley and just drive as far away as I can. But this is the reality of life. Yeah!!!!!

The kids have moved out and now I am on constant break. Lonely sometimes but mostly good. I am surrounded by my dogs and other pets. Raising kids is exhausting and I remember the feeling. One day I was walking the dog in a forest by myself and thought, "What if I just continued walking, just him and I, forever free."
Now the hectic family life is a sweet memory, looking at pictures you can still hear the noise. It will be back this month when they all come home for a week. It will be noisy and fun, just long enough not to want to go on a break.
Enjoy your break if you get one!

Instead of getting away, make live so awesome that every day is an adventure.
