This kid wants to kill his parents, fine (well, obviously not fine...you know what I mean)... Why murder 20 children....

Just waking up to this terrible news over here......feeling for you all and the families of these children.....it is beyond belief that this happens.

Another family member was found shot to death inside a home in Newtown. The relationship to the shooter was not immediately clear. While state police confirmed that there is a second crime scene in Newtown, they would not elaborate.

But in the live coverage they just reported that it was 20 year old Adam Lanza who was the shooter, and his brother Ryan is in custody. Also, my husband heard on the radio (not sure if this is true or not) that the other person killed in Newtown was the shooter's girlfriend. There's no mention of the father in NJ anymore.

I have turned it all off. It's all so inaccurate and crazy right now, it'll be hours if not days before they get it straight

The only thing apparently accurate is the death toll.

For those asking and wondering "why", my former boss (police chief at that time) told me something that'll stick with me, "we can't understand (these crimes), because we don't think that way and we never will".

There was a brother killed. I think in NJ. It's all very confusing.

I was told they sent a robot into the parent's house because it's booby trapped and they found a body with the robot. They can't tell who it is.

I haven't read that...so I can't confirm it.

This is true ,they will do a psychological atoposy to try to answer that question but reality is lots of people suffer from mental illness,drug/alcohol or have antisocial tendencies but not many would ever commit murder and even fewer would harm 5 year old children. My heart goes out to the families of those babies who were lost to this horrible act and to all those who had loved ones in that terrible situation.

We as Americans really need to look at our mental health system. This violence is a symptom of our deep seeded mental health issues in this country.

No words for the loss of life today. Just sickening.

It seems the more each generation has and gives their children, the more destructive and less responsible they become .... this just did not happen 30 or 40 years ago.....

so sad for the poor families of all those children and for the adults and their families as well....

Totally incomprehensible.....
